A little bit of everything...

So no defined topic today.  I have been so crazy busy lately, I just haven't had a chance to post.  And I haven't had the motivation either, honestly.  Here I am though! :-)

The past few days have been just a mess.  On Saturday my grandpa ended up going to the hospital. Twice. For totally un-related incidents.  Awesome.  He's fine now, no worrys, but I basically spent all of Saturday in the hospital.  The second trip they kept him in for a few days for treatment of pneumonia.  He got out yesterday and is home, but I have to get all his medications in order and all that fun stuff.  Busy busy busy.

Plus my cousin and his wife just had a baby today!  Congrats to them!  A little baby boy.  I don't know if they have decided on a name yet, so for now it's just baby boy.

Last night at like 2 in the morning (I have a screwy sleep schedule) I was working on my nails and this happened...

It's not blood... Just Polish
That was... not awesome.  Luckily, I wasn't really that thrilled with they way they were turning out, so it wasn't a huge loss.  I ended up just taking off all my polish (nails AND HAND  grr) and going to bed.  I decided that I have a new rule... No doing my nails after midnight.  Just a good idea to stay away from it at that time lol.  I obviously get very messy.  I tried to pick up that red polish and the cap was hardly on. Flipped it over and poured it right into my hand.

This is what I was working on...

Tree with Autumn Leaves
Oh well, I got over it.  I didn't really like how it was turning out, I needed to use something smaller for my 'leaves'  So instead of going with that theme, I did my nails all purple today

Super Cute purple :-)
Cute, right?  I used a set of 4 purples I got at 5below :-)

Anyway, I am going to crash I think, it's still early according to my schedual but I'm getting sleepy. So maybe I will post more tomorrow :)

Bye loves!

My Addiction...

I am pretty sure I currently have an addiction to nail polish.  It's my one girly thing I do.

I have never been much of a girly girl.  I grew up in the country, in the middle of no where, and most of my friends were boys.  That doesn't equal to much girly-ness.  In all honesty, I really didn't even get very girly until I went off to college.  That probably has to do with all the girl roomies I had.

Anyway, the nail polish thing has just started the past year or two.  It's escalated lately though. haha. I always check out the nail polish when I am in any store.  My boyfriend is learning to try and keep me away lol.  I don't spend a fortune on nail polish though.  I don't have a fortune to spend.  I usually only get it when I find a spectacular deal, or if there is one specific one I need. (that's usually around the holidays)

I'm gonna share a couple of my favorite nail designs I've had in the past. :-)

The all green one was obviously a St. Paddy's day one. The red and green was Christmas and the multi-colored egg shaped ones were for Easter.  The rest are just random ones I have done here and there.  I must say that my favorite is the rainbow polka dots though :-)

I really like doing my own nails, I rarely do anyone else's nails though. Not that I'm being selfish or anything, I just rarely do.

This is a picture of almost all of my current collection.  Nothing fancy.  It doesn't include the polishes I added today... which will come later.

I know that my collection is nothing compared to a lot of people, there's some bloggers out there that just have me in awe of how many they have. I don't plan on every getting that many (but who knows lol)

Like I said before, I don't spend a lot on my nail polish.  I buy it when I get awesome deals on it. Like I got today:

Today's awesome score
I got Sally Hansen HD Lite, Sally Hansen HD Hue, Milani 3D - Cyberspace, Digital, and HD, Wet n Wild Craze Shield, and two mini ORLY top2bottom.  How much did I pay?  $6.00!! I also got two Sally Hansen Hard as nails for $1.50 for both.

I got them at such a deal because I'm just so freaking awesome.  Okay, maybe not... but Shhhh!  I got them at this little dented can type store by me. If you've never heard of that before, let me explain.  (the best I can, I don't know a lot)  Basically, the store I go to is run by an Amish family, they have it in a big building next to their house and they all work in the store (the kids help too) And these people are the most friendly people like ever.  Anyways, from what I know, they buy truck loads of products.  Mostly food stuffs that are shelf stable and they get a lot of other stuff, like paper products, cosmetics, toiletries, etc.  The reason they can buy all of this stuff is that it is packages that are slightly damaged and can't be sold in stores any more, or are slightly past their experation.  You have to watch the experation dates, but to save over half the price, I'm willing to look.

I go there every so often to check for any cool finds.  I don't buy a lot of food, but I'm always excited to look through the rest of the stuff.  I can't believe all the polishes I got today!

My other favorite place to get polish is 5below.  Seriously that store is a-freakin-mazing. There aren't any by me, but when I go out by the boyfriend I always go there.  I could spend a fortune there haha!  They have their own line of polishes named Funky Fingers.  They have some awesome stuff!  Here is my score from last time I went there:
5 Below awesome score
I don't remember for sure, but I think I got all of those for $11.  They had a bunch of clearance polishes for a dollar and then their normal price is 3 for $5 so I scooped up a bunch.  I need to go back soon and see if they have any different ones on clearance.  And I want to maybe pick up another mini pack of Sally Hansen HD polishes. I got a 4 pack of them for $4 or $5 a while back and I love them.  You unfortunately can't order from their website but you CAN see some of the awesome polishes... Check it out here.

I also have been finding some awesome deals on Kleancolor polishes at the mall.  I have went a couple times and gotten them for 5 polishes for like $3.50.  No pics of those currently, but they are awesome :-)

I also got 3 polishes for $0.01!!  Check these pretties out...

I love these polishes from Julep!  They have an awesome little club you can join and get new polishes every month (if  you want)  Right now you can get the intro pack for only ONE CENT!  and you don't have to make any more purchases, ever!    You can just skip the boxes each month until you want one, or you can just cancel your account if it isn't what you want anymore.  Check it out through HERE.

The last thing I just have to share with you is some AWESOME polishes I won through a drawing on nail polish makers blog.  These are awesome.

My polishes from Girly Bits
These awesome polishes are from Girly Bits.  There are some gorgeous polishes over there for sale. I was lucky enough to win my choice of any three!  I am sure I will have better pics soon, but for now this is all I have. I just got these today!  Go check them out and let me know what you think! :-)

Anyways, I have rambled about nail polish enough for now, so I am going to call it a night!

I'm sure I will be back soon!

First Blog Post

Hello there!  I wanna introduce myself.  If you already know me, then awesome!  Maybe you'll learn something new about me, or maybe you won't... Maybe you know me just THAT well. If you don't know me, this post will let you get to know me a little bit.  Basically it's just gonna be random ME facts :-)

Me - Mrs. Awesome
The first thing you need to know, and if you know me, you already know, is that I am awesome.  Hence the blog name.  No joke, everyone knows how awesome I am.  They tell me all the time. haha.  I don't know how many times one of my friends or family has sent me this:

True Story
Realistically, I'm probably not THAT awesome, but everyone keeps telling me I am, so who am I to argue with the people?  I can't disappoint them and not be awesome.

Aside from my big head about being so awesome, I'm really just a goofy, dorky, random girl.

My name is Brandy, I'm 24 and from Indiana.  It's pretty boring here, but I still like it... Most of the time.  If I'm not in Hick-town, Indiana... I'm probably in Illinois.  I'm always in Chicago or the suburbs.  I went to college downtown Chicago, which is pretty much an AWESOME place to live.  I studied Graphic Design/Communication Design.  I met my awesome boyfriend when I lived there.  We have been together over 4.5 years now and have been in a long distance relationship for almost 4 of those years... Yeah...

I'm not really sure if I'm a country girl or a city girl.  I'm kind of in the middle.  I grew up in the middle of no where.  Literally.  If you're driving and you blink, you'll miss the town I grew up in.  1/4 mile long with no side streets... Yeah... small.  But then I lived in Chicago for two years. And when I say in Chicago, I mean I was IN Chicago.  I lived around the Wrigley area ( Go CUBBIES!*) and I adjusted to city life well.

*yes I am a Cubs fan. I know they suck. I know we don't win. I don't care.  It's not just about winning.

Realistically, I am just a country girl at heart. I like camping and hiking and being outdoors more than anything.  I like laying in the grass on a warm summer night.  I like the smell of campfire.  I could sit along the lake all day long and not get bored.  I like to go play in a summer rain storm, and yeah, I'm not afraid to get in a mud fight. If I could spend every spring, summer, and fall night around a big bonfire with friends, I would.

I love to travel, although I don't get to do it nearly as much as I would like to.  One of my favorite places is the upper peninsula of Michigan. I love road trips.  Also, on that note, I don't drive.  I never got a license.  Long story, but basically I broke my leg super bad in high school and didn't get it, and then I moved to Chicago where I didn't need it.  Now I can't afford insurance or a car, so I haven't bothered. lol.

There are a few things I am basically obsessed with.

One being Mr. Awesome.  My boyfriend, Kevin.  Don't take that wrong, I don't mean literally obsessed. I'm not some crazy chick.  But at 4 and a half years together, he's basically in every part of my life.  I talk to him every single day about everything, all day, text, calls, facebook, whatever.

Another obsession of mine is photography.  Photography has been a large part of my life for so many years that it feels odd if I am not doing something with it in some way at all times.  I started out with a crappy little camera when I was in middle school, and the horrible photo editing software it came with.  I upgraded cameras whenever I could through out the years.  I took a photography class in high school and another in college, but for the majority of it, I was self taught.  I do a little of everything, nature photography, portraits, events, etc.  For two years I worked in a portrait studio and although it wasn't my ideal photography job, it was fun.  I learned a lot about the business side of photography and got paid to do what I love.  Unfortunately, I recently left that job because of a big messy drama with some of the managers above me.

I recently started selling some of my favorite photographs online.  I am working daily on that, and if you'd like to check it out, here is how you can:  AwesomelyYouPhoto.Etsy.com

The third (and final) thing I am kind of obsessed with lately is nail polish.  Seriously, it's becoming an addiction.  My nail polish collection has grown substantially in the past few months.  Now, I'm nothing like all those nail polish bloggers out there, or those who make their own polishes (although I've been thinking about that)  I love doing my nails, it's really the only 'girly' thing I do.  My facebook, twitter, and instagram are covered in photos of my nails.  I can't resist looking at nail polish basically every time I go to the store.  And the mall? That's a dangerous place.  lol.
My favorite nails
I think that's enough about me for now.  It's more than I had planned on writing in this post, so I hope you enjoyed getting to know me and my awesomeness and I hope you come back and get to know even more!
